Gaurav Dagaonkar is the co-founder and CEO of Hoopr.ai, a music licensing marketplace for content creators. He’s
also an award-winning singer and music producer.
Gaurav Dagaonkar graduated from the IIM-A, Batch of 2006 and went on to pursue a career in the music business.
Known for his popular songs 'College Days', 'Main Dhoondne Ko Zamaane Mein' and his signature Synchronicity
YouTube mashups, Gaurav has recorded famous singers such as Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, KK,
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Shalmali Kholgade on his songs.
In 2018, Gaurav co-founded GSharp Media, a music tech company based in Mumbai. The company owns the popular
music platform ‘Songfest’, that has over 100 million views and over 5 lakh subscribers on YouTube. This platform
offers viral solutions to brands and video creators in collaboration with some popular artists. They have created
award-winning branded music content for brands such as Nestle, Mars-Wrigley, Hike Sticker Chat, ALT Balaji,
Magicpin, etc., and have worked with artists such as Shaan, Monali Thakur, Nikhil D’Souza, etc.
He also is the founder and CEO of Hoopr, a music licensing marketplace that allows video creators and businesses to
license royalty-free music for ads, videos, and films. The firm secured $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by
9Unicorns and Venture Catalysts.
Gaurav stays in Mumbai with his wife Orunima Bhattacharya, a singer and a home-chef and his daughter, Ara. He
loves watching movies and playing mentor to upcoming music creators.
